Liverpool 5 Huddersfield 0

Another three points and another long weekend awaits. Can’t argue with the scoreline, could have been more in fact. Two each for Mo and Mane and another from Naby.  We keep winning but unfortunately so do Manchester City

Cardiff 0 Liverpool 2

We had to win and we won.  Too hot for drama so just did what was necessary.  Great goal from Gini and then proof that in the modern game even the most obvious of penalties will be disputed.  Salah grappled; Milner scores. Good enough.

Porto 1 Liverpool 4

VAR again – this time giving us a goal and not disallowing any of there’s.  Weathered a storm, scored and basically were home and dry from there on – despite the rain.  Mane got us going and Salah never looked like missing when put through. Bobby again and VvD, Barca awaits.

Liverpool 2 Chelsea 0

The first half was like watching Chess in so much as every move fascinated.  The second half was more blockbuster stuff, especially the two minute spell when Chelsea were blown apart. Mane’s goal was team work in abundance. Mo’s goal was individual brilliance and a shot that went past the Chelsea keeper like a shot from a gun.  Had to be a great result.

Liverpool 2 Porto 0

Not a great Euro night but one that left a few talking points…such as VAR.  Goals from Keita and Firmino set us up nicely for the second leg where an away goal could be useful.

Southampton 1 Liverpool 3

Our turn to go back top then after a good win down on the Solent.  First half was awful, second half a lot better and goals from the rarer than rare, Keita and Hendo and a gem from Mo. We can only keep winning and hoping and we won. Only thing that matters now.

Liverpool 2 Tottenham 1

I can’t be certain but Liverpool hospitals must be on red alert on our match days. Yes we nicked the points against Spurs but it was almost heart attack inducing. Our first goal from Bobby Firmino was class, the cross and the finish and for about ten minutes we looked the part. Then the pendulum started to swing and it wasn’t because Spurs were playing well, it’s just that we weren’t. After they’d scored you could sense what was coming next but somehow it didn’t and I don’t care how lucky the winner was, it was a winner. Valium on tap please doctor.
