The Cup That Cheers

We move on the League Cup after beating Brighton. Two great goals from Cody Gakpo and another from Luis Diaz got us through but the outstanding player on the night had to be our third choice goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros. An early save and then the best of the night when he turned a header onto the post was nothing short of sensational. The League Cup allows clubs to give players a game and we’re certainly benefitting again. 3-2 sounds close, and maybe it was but we deserved it and we’ll see Brighton again on Saturday. Bad news of the night was getting another trip to the south coast in the quarter final where we play Southampton.
