Newcastle 2 Liverpool 3

Like against Bournemouth we seemed on course for a comfortable win but then things went adrift and we needed a late, late goal deep into added time to get the three points. This time the player they’d all be talking about on the way home, in houses and bars all over the land would be Rio Ngumoha. Not quite 17-years old and he scored the winner with all the finesse of a veteran. Gravenberch had given us the lead and Ekitike doubled it, and the Toon were ready to cry into their beer. Only our defence went into fits of panic, and it looked like the points had been tossed away. Enter young Rio. A message to Arne and the money men, Isak isn’t the priority, the defence is. Clean sheets are a distant memory.
