Tranmere 0 Liverpool 4

The Redmen made a waterway pilgrimage to Prenton Park to play the nearly boys from the National League.  In case confusion reigns, Tranny nearly won promotion back to the big time of what was in old money, The Fourth Division.  I like pre-season friendlies as a rule because we get a few new and/or obscure grounds to go to, but alas, not this year.  Tranny and Wigan were on the menu last season.  The other good thing about pre-season friendlies is we get to see some of the Academy/Under 23 players strutting their stuff in front of bigger crowds than they’re used to even though games have now become about twenty-five per side with the bus drivers taking their kit just in case.  And this was probably the biggest crowd Tranny will get this season.  There’s usually the chance to see the raft of new signings making their bow but unfortunately only Dominic Solanke this time.  Funny how the ‘bigger names’ seemed to be just strolling around in the early evening sunshine but the ‘second half’ side buzzed around for a bit.  Impressed by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the first half and Ryan Kent in the second.  A 4-0 win, so bring on Wigan!!!
