Memories Are Made Of This

One more win will see us in the knockout stages of the Europa League. The 5-1 win against Toulouse won’t live long in the memory of the fans but it might do for Luke Chambers, Calum Scanlon, and James McConnell.  Three Academy lads who were given a taste of European football at Anfield. Chambers making his full debut the other two coming on nearer the end. Wataru Endo might cherish the memory as well, scoring his first goal for the club. The French side were a bit limited, but they gave it a go and their fans lit up Anfield in the second half with a pyro display which will have everyone asking how they smuggled them in. A UEFA fine probably awaits.  The goals were shared, first Jota, then the Japanese warrior before Núñez made it 3-1. Okay, we all wondered how Darwin rounded everyone before hitting the post when he should have scored but nobody cared because Ryan Gravenberch netted the rebound. Mo came on a for a short cameo, long enough to score the fifth and everyone went home happy. Even the Toulouse supporters who’d had a nice day out.
