No Winners; Only Losers

We should have been feeling a bit pleased with the FA Cup draw, a home tie with Barnsley but the news hardly got a mention due to the latest news coming out of Liverpool, Mo won’t be travelling to Milan. The press conference which featured Arne and Alisson, but the talk was all about Mo.  Some have said the whole matter should have been dealt with in private but in the modern world of football the word private no longer exists.

The fallout after Mo rocked the whole of Merseyside has been annoying and embarrassing. There will be no winners only losers.  The fans and the rest of the team have got to get on with things. Whether Mo ever players for Liverpool again we’ll have to wait and see but all of this can’t mask the way things have gone this season. Mo couldn’t get off the bench against Leeds but that wasn’t the problem.  The problem was and has been for longer than most think our defending. The manager seems powerless to sort the issues out. Konaté has been poor all season but gets picked game after game.  He’s not alone either. Gakpo hasn’t been anywhere near his best form but gets picked. Cody won’t be playing against Inter as he’s injured and Chiesa hasn’t travelled due to illness. The starting eleven will be interesting. Arne’s options don’t appear to be vast.
