Rescue Act But No Victors 29 Aug 2026 - From what I hear one of the minority investors turned up at Anfield to watch the Forest game. I wonder if he could convince the club that we need to be major investors in a few defenders along with someone who can do a defensive job in midfield. Just a thought. Forest were the better side by a long streak in the first half and when went in at halftime one-down I can’t say there were any great feelings about the second half. Relight The Ring Of Fire 21 Aug 2026 - The signings the fans wanted and expected/demanded haven’t materialised and the rumoured signings remain just rumours. Andoni Iraola has done his first pre-match press conference as Liverpool supremo, so I watched and listened to every word. It was somewhat refreshing to hear him say “We’re in a good place” and there was no catalogue of injuries to lay before the gathering. That made a change. Pre-Season Is Over 18 Aug 2026 - Seven games played, if you include the shortened version played behind closed doors at Kirkby. Two wins in America and one defeat. Two games at Anfield saw a loss against Monaco and a win against Como while the workout at Kirkby was a thrilling 0-0. Pre-season results only matter if you win, if you lose, they’re meaningless, a bit like the Community Shield. Editorial 324 31 Jul 2026 - Welcome to issue 324 of Red All Over The Land. At the final home game of last season there seemed an air of inevitability that Arne Slot would be leaving. Within a week the feeling became fact. He faces a big task coming to Liverpool from Bournemouth where not only are the expectations a mountain higher so too, are the demands. Whether he wants to or not, he’ll be thrust into a spotlight he’s never previously been in and to a club where last season there appeared to be a crisis on the pitch and another one off it. James Milner 1 Jun 2026 - James Milner has retired from playing. I’d get him straight up to Anfield and get him on the coaching staff. Working with the Under 21 side in the week and around the first team to kick backsides on match day. A true legend of our times and he should be available to play in next season's Legends team. We should just feel honoured to have watched him play for Liverpool and that goal line clearance against Bournemouth remains vividly in my mind to this day. What a player. What a man. ...
Farewell And Thank You Arne 30 May 2026 - So, what seemed like the inevitable has happened. Despite all the social media lynch mobs we shouldn’t forget what Arne achieved in his first season. He departs sitting alongside those managers who won our club the coveted league title, he succeeded where others had failed. While the keyboard warriors were on the warpath let’s not forget that twelve months ago Arne Slot was being compared to Bob Paisley, the quiet man following in the footsteps of a living legend.
