Tonight we play Tottenham in what looks on paper, as one the ties of the round but nobody expects either side to put out anything close to their best X1. Tottenham might go stronger because the domestic Cups are all they can be competitive in. No European commitments and they won’t be worrying any title contenders either. On the other hand, our side looked tired and weary on Saturday, so we won’t be surprised at wholesale changes even though we don’t look like we’ve got a squad big enough to make wholesale changes. I think we’ll see the likes of Trey Nyoni and Endo, and we know there will be a keeper change. Rio and Lewis Koumas are expected and there are whispers that Joe Gomex could set foot on the pitch. Last year we got beaten by a stronger Crystal Palace when we sent out what was almost the Under 21 side. I hope we don’t do that tonight, the competition adorns Liverpool’s honours board, and we should show it some respect.
