Sorry for the late post but just taken over by events. We looked good for most of the opening 90 minutes and in truth, should have finished the job but a great goalkeeping display by the Atletico 'keeper and several missed chances meant extra time as we only had a Gini goal to our name....

Whoops, nearly slipped on that banana skin. One-nil up, two-one down but ended three-two up. Gini, Mo and Sadio on the target but we didn't play anywhere near our best. West Ham might have done but we still won. Four more wins required....

Firstly we didn't play anywhere near our usual standard and our defence made a rare mistake which was punished. Secondly, it's not over. Anfield needs to be louder than ever and more intimidating as well. The league is still priority....

The kids didn't do too badly did they? I'm glad we can kick the critics aside and enjoy another special Anfield night. Great stuff and a deserved win albeit thanks to an own goal by Williams from a Williams cross. Go and figure that one out....
